More than 650 years of mill history

Coat of arms of Börries von Münchhausen, dated 1569, on the mill

A mill on the Riesbach stream is documented as early as 1374. The present building was erected in 1569 by the von Münchhausen family, and their coat of arms can still be seen on the façade. In 1948 a turbine replaced the old mill wheel. Since 2018 the mill has been privately owned. The family who live here rent out a separate building on the mill yard as a holiday home. You share the grounds with your hosts, but you have your own entrance and the house all to yourself.
