Alone in the woods – yet close to everything

The mill stands on its own among trees by the Riesbach stream, between the Deister, Süntel and Bückeberg hills. You won’t hear any neighbours, only the water. Even so, Bad Nenndorf, Rodenberg and the A2 motorway are just a few minutes away.

Finding the entrance

The driveway turns off Rintelner Straße and is well hidden among the trees. Drive slowly and look out for the covered wooden bridge (see photo). Turn in there and you’ll arrive straight on the mill yard.

Arrival

• Parking: free, right on the mill yard.
• The key box is on the natural stone wall to the left of the brown wooden door of the holiday home. You’ll receive the code by email about one day before you arrive.
• Something stuck? The guest doorbell right next to the key box rings in our house.

Getting here

By car: Via the A2 motorway (Hanover–Dortmund), exit Lauenau, then country roads to Apelern.

By train: The nearest stations are Bad Nenndorf (approx. 9 km), Stadthagen (approx. 13 km) and Haste (approx. 17 km). From there, a taxi is the easiest option, as buses run only rarely. A car is very handy for exploring the area.

On foot or by bike: There is no cycle path along the country road, so we don’t recommend arriving on foot or by bike, especially with children.

By plane: Hanover Airport is about 42 km away (roughly 30–40 minutes by car).
